So obviously it has been 1 month since my last post. I've been a little busy, okay a lot busy. I started work January 25 th.... and I love it! I'm starting to get into the swing of the clinic, and feel like I am settling in quite nicely. Unfortunately when I signed on for a salary position, I didn't realize that I would be getting to the clinic at 8 am not leaving until after 6:15/6:30 and coming home fully intending to work on charting all night, but finding myself just going to sleep instead. I am really not used to working day shift, not to mention 5 days a week! But I love the people I work with... My medical assistant, Mary is wonderful!! couldn't ask for better, and the best part she reminds me of my best friend... so it is a little piece of home away from home!
well after I get home from work.... I am greeted by my two monsters (who by the way are such great dogs!!) They actually must just sleep all day because they haven't ruined anything (okay, one day I did come home and Kallie had eaten another bar of soap.. and another day she had taken the bananas off the kitchen counter up to the bed!). once I get home we usually try to spend at least 30 mins to an hour outside (and since we are now having a heat wave and it is staying lighter later and later it makes it much easier!)
well.. and that is pretty much my excitement for the week!
a couple of weekends ago I went into town to watch the start of the Yukon Quest. I actually stayed outside and watched all 24 dog teams leave the starting line!!! It was amazing...such a neat experience. I would have never guested that the dogs would be that small and that strong! Can't wait until next year when the race ends in Fairbanks and I can see the teams cross the finish line!
Like I said before, we are having a heat wave (in fact I haven't even plugged my car in for the whole past week!). This past week it was 20-40 degrees each day! I have really adjusted to the weather because now I can walk outside with a fleece rather than the puffy, down filled fur lined coat that goes down to my ankles!
okay, time to get things done tonight... tomorrow off to the pet store to get the dogs their harnesses so they can go cross country skiing with me (which should be an interesting experience!). And then we are off to the river with Mary and her dogs!
